What is AIDS Memorial Day?

Aids Memorial Day is a day of remembrance.

It was established to commemorate those who have died of AIDS and to show solidarity with those living with HIV. The day is also intended to raise awareness of the impact of HIV/AIDS on society and to encourage support for measures to prevent, treat and combat this disease.

AIDS Memorial Day 2024

On the occasion of AIDS Memorial Day, people who have died of HIV/AIDS will once again be commemorated in a solemn ceremony at the AIDS Memorial (Maria Grün Church in the Prater). A rose and a memorial stone will be laid in their honour. A quilt from the Names Project Vienna is laid on. Musical entertainment is provided by „ausg'steckt is“ - Eva Drabek and Wolfgang Rettig sing lovely and nasty songs.

The boss is extremely competent, hard-working and always has an open ear for my concerns. I suffer from a very severe form of dry eye and I can ask him for advice at any time. He really thinks about things, does his research and tries to help where most doctors are at their wit's end, and it's great that there are people as committed as Mr Wendl in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the big city.
